What Mounjaro is
Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist: a medicine that acts on two of the hormone pathways involved in appetite and blood sugar regulation. It’s made by Eli Lilly and licensed in the UK for weight management in adults.

In its main clinical trial (SURMOUNT-1), adults taking tirzepatide 15mg weekly who stayed on treatment lost an average of 22.5% of their body weight over 72 weeks, compared with 2.4% for those making diet and lifestyle changes alone. Side effects
The most commonly reported side effects are digestive: nausea, diarrhoea, constipation and vomiting, most often while the dose is increasing.
